Welcome to Flora’s Reign, an augmented reality mobile game designed to foster environmental awareness and stewardship. We are committed to protecting your privacy and respecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information, in alignment with Mozilla’s Privacy Principles.

1. We Respect Your Privacy

We believe privacy is a fundamental right. Flora’s Reign is built to empower players—especially children and families—to learn about nature without compromising their personal data. We design with privacy in mind, collect only what we need, and provide clear options to control your data.

2. Data We Collect and Why

We collect the minimal amount of information necessary to provide and improve the game. Here’s what we collect:

Information We Collect Automatically:

• Device information: such as model, operating system version, and anonymized device ID—for performance and compatibility.
  
• Usage data: such as level progression, time spent on challenges, or areas of engagement—to improve gameplay and educational outcomes.
  

Information You Provide (Optional):

• Account setup (if applicable): name you provide, or classroom code—only when you  create a user profile or link with a teacher/classroom.
  
• In-game creations: such as garden designs or journal entries—used only to personalize your experience.
  
• Location-based gameplay (AR mode): We use GPS location data to blend augmented reality assets in real-world locations. GPs is only activated when the game is in use.

Special Note for Children:

Flora’s Reign is designed with children’s privacy in mind. We comply with applicable child privacy regulations (e.g., Canada’s PIPEDA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental or school consent.

3. We Don’t Sell Data or Use It to Advertise

We never sell or share your personal data with advertisers or third-party marketers. We do not use ad tracking or behavioral advertising in Flora’s Reign. 

4. Security Practices

We use modern, industry-standard security practices to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmissions are encrypted, and access is restricted to trained personnel.

5. Data Storage and Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the game experience, support educational objectives, or meet legal obligations. Gameplay data can be deleted at any time upon request.

6. Educational Accounts and School Use

When used in a classroom setting:

• We collect no more personal information than necessary to support learning.
  
• We work with educators to agree on what date is required.
  
• We offer data hosting and management solutions that comply with school board, provincial, and national privacy regulations.
  

7. Third-Party Services

If the game uses third-party services (e.g., for cloud saves or AR functionality), we ensure they follow strict privacy and security standards. We review our partners regularly and share only what is necessary.
